In the 2000's Griesbach began redeveloping as a non-military residential community, as it is no longer part of the Canadian national defense facility. Griesbach takes its name from Major General William Antrobus Griesbach who was a veteran of the Boer War and WW I, as well as a practicing lawyer and Edmonton's youngest mayor in 1907.
Explore how Griesbach fits on the map: the gold fill is the boundary in effect for the selected time period, dashed outlines show every earlier superseded shape from prior eras, red pins are linked structures built in that era, and purple pins are sites. Use the time period buttons below the map to explore the neighbourhood over time. Boundary history is documented in Stories.
