Appointed to the Edmonton Police Department in 1912, she received world-wide acclaim when her photograph as a Policewoman appeared on the front page of the London Daily Mirror on August 8, 1913. By 1971, a development plan had been prepared by the City of Edmonton. Jackson Heights is a triangular shaped neighbourhood with part of the Mill Creek Ravine crossing through the southern portion of the neighbourhood.
