The name Schonsee is derived from the German word "schon", meaning beautiful, and "see" meaning lake. The plan for the neighbourhood is to develop a primarily residential community with a variety of housing options.
Explore how Schonsee fits on the map: the gold fill is the boundary in effect for the selected time period, dashed outlines show every earlier superseded shape from prior eras, red pins are linked structures built in that era, and purple pins are sites. Use the time period buttons below the map to explore the neighbourhood over time. Boundary history is documented in Stories.
The projected population is over 3,000 residents, and a student generation of just under 400 school-aged children. A 1. 8 hectare park is located north of the storm water lake, and a smaller hectare park is located on the northeast shore of the lake. These amenities will provide residents with outdoor recreation space. Civic ward: tastawiyiniwak. District: Northeast. City boundary records effective 2007-10-02.
