North Glenora was part of a 900-acre farm owned by Malcolm Groat. This land was sold in 1906 to Montreal realtor James Carruthers.
The first building project was a recreation complex built in 1953. There is a large senior population in the neighbourhood, with over 25 percent of the populace 60 years or older.
