Sherbrooke dates to the City's earliest land boom in 1906. Sherbrooke was one of the first in North America to be designed using the "neighbourhood" concept, which discourages traffic and is highlighted by attractive curving streets.
In the 1950s, Sherbrooke was cited by the American Society of Planning Officials as a model of good design. Two thirds of residences are single-family homes and a high proportion of residents are older than 50 years. Civic ward: Anirniq. District: Central. City boundary records effective 1981-10-01.
